The direct ocean frontage on the eastern streets means salt aerosol penetration is severe: window frames corrode, untreated timber rails silver and crack, and exterior paint films chalks off within three to four years without appropriate marine-grade systems. Homes on the western side of the Pacific Motorway sit in marginally better salt conditions but still face intense UV exposure from the north-east. Any exterior specification in Coolum Beach that doesn't account for coastal salt load will underperform regardless of brand or application quality.
