The elevated position and larger block sizes mean significant exterior surface area on many homes: multi-level construction is common, and exterior repaints often require scaffolding or elevated access equipment. Acreage properties have timber features, decks, pergolas, cladding, that face intense UV exposure from an open sky unshaded by coastal haze. Buderim sits far enough inland to be largely out of salt-air range, but UV degradation is the primary coating challenge here, accelerating chalking and colour fade on south and west-facing elevations.
